SmartStart is an Erasmus+ Sport Small-Scale Partnership coordinated by the Municipality of Piran (Slovenia), with partners No Brain, No Gain (Slovenia) and BOR Association (Italy).
The project addresses a major challenge: in many European countries, children start structured physical activity only around the age of 10, missing the key early years when motor and cognitive development are most sensitive. SmartStart aims to change this by introducing fun, evidence-based motor-cognitive activities for preschool children (ages 2–6).
The project will:
- Develop guidelines for kindergartens with ready-to-use activities.
- Train educators and preschool staff to apply these methods.
- Organize workshops and events where children, teachers, and parents can experience the benefits first-hand.
As No Brain, No Gain, we bring our expertise in motor-cognitive training and will play a key role in preparing the activity guidelines and training educators, ensuring that results are sustainable and widely shared.
