Špela Majcen is a seasoned communicator and EU expert with over a decade of experience in managing EU-funded projects and executing their communication and dissemination strategies with measurable impact. She specializes in crafting clear, compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences, regardless of complexity, and is committed to showcasing the successes of EU policies at national, regional, and local levels.

Špela employs a multi-channel approach, working with various EU-funded projects to amplify their messages across a broad spectrum of platforms, including live events (roundtables, press conferences, and special events), online media, TV, radio, and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, ResearchGate, TikTok). She also advises on and oversees content development for project websites and policy papers.

In the association, Špela oversees communication projects of diverse scales, with a particular emphasis on leading PR initiatives. She brings a wealth of experience, having previously contributed to EU-funded projects in her roles with the MFDPŠ (including the EU-PIKA project) and the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI).

Špela’s expertise is further enriched by first-hand experience working with the European Commission and the European Parliament, which gives her a deep understanding of the communication challenges and needs specific to EU-funded projects. This allows her to effectively communicate key messages to citizens and stakeholders on the ground.

With over 10 years of experience, Špela is an EU affairs specialist turned communicator and spokesperson, with a proven track record in promoting EU policies, migration issues, environmental topics, and digitalization. Her passion lies in translating complex issues into clear, accessible language for wider audiences and decision-makers alike.
