dr. Luka Šlosar
Dr. Luka Šlosar is a researcher and practitioner in the field of Kinesiology, specializing in motor learning, motor development, and the use of innovative approaches to optimize health across the lifespan.
He began his career as a sports teacher and later earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology, focusing on motor learning and development. He further expanded his expertise through a postdoctoral fellowship at ETH Zurich, where he explored strategies for improving health outcomes across different populations. He currently serves as an Associate Professor, actively contributing to teaching and mentoring in higher education.
Dr. Šlosar has a strong academic profile, with over 140 citations on ResearchGate and a role on the editorial board of the scientific journal Annales Kinesiologiae. His work focuses on translating scientific knowledge into practical applications, particularly through the integration of technology and enriched environments in health and rehabilitation contexts.
He has extensive experience in European-funded projects and currently acts as Principal Investigator of the Erasmus+ Sport BRAIN project (Grant No. 101089506) and the MOVE4BRAIN project (Grant No. 101243543). His research has led to the development of evidence-based interventions implemented through workshops, educational programs, and applied research settings.
In 2024, he co-founded the Association Movement for the Brain “No Brain, No Gain”, aimed at promoting scientifically grounded approaches to improving health and well-being across the lifespan at both national and European levels.
Dr. Šlosar is also a member of the Management Committee of the COST Action CA20104 (PhysAgeNet), a European network advancing evidence-based physical activity for older adults. In addition, he serves as President of the organizing committee of the International Congress Human in Motion, a biennial conference in Slovenia that brings together international experts in human movement science.
