DEJAN KRALJ CV

Dejan Kralj is a Slovenian slalom kayaker who competed at the international level from 1992 to 2012. He achieved significant success during his career, including a second-place finish in the 2001 World Cup and a bronze medal in the K1 team event at the 2005 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Penrith, Australia. Additionally, Kralj earned five medals in the same event at the European Championships, comprising three golds, one silver, and one bronze. He also represented Slovenia at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, finishing tenth in the K1 event.

Beyond slalom competitions, Kralj excelled as an extreme paddler, earning a silver medal at the 2013 Extreme World Championship in whitewater kayaking. Following his competitive career, he successfully completed two IRONMAN triathlons.

As a coach, Kralj has worked with world-class athletes, training competitors from New Zealand and Azerbaijan, as well as elite senior, junior, and youth athletes globally.

In addition to his work with professional athletes, Kralj leads various workshops focused on water sports. These include programs for children, young people, and intergenerational groups, as well as inclusive workshops for individuals with disabilities who share a passion for water-based activities.

In a remarkable personal story, Kralj took time away from his career to donate a kidney to his best friend in Los Angeles, demonstrating his dedication and selflessness.
